Nano zirconium dioxide exhibits strong thermal shock resistance, high temperature resistance, excellent chemical stability, and outstanding composite properties. When compounded with other materials, it significantly improves fracture toughness, flexural strength, and other performance parameters. It is widely used in structural ceramics, functional ceramics, and for enhancing metal surface properties (thermal conductivity, thermal shock resistance, high-temperature oxidation resistance). By doping with different elements, its conductive properties enable electrode manufacturing in high-performance solid-state batteries. Zirconium dioxide ceramics sintered from nano powder are a major structural ceramic due to transformation toughening. In nanocomposites, nano zirconium dioxide as a dispersed phase effectively strengthens and toughens the matrix. Stabilized nano zirconium dioxide is also an ideal electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cells.
