Calcium bromide, chemical formula CaBr₂, is neutral when dissolved in water. It is a powdered inorganic salt product with an effective CaBr₂ content of 95%. Calcium bromide can be used to prepare mixed brines of calcium chloride, calcium bromide, and zinc bromide to increase brine density. It is particularly suitable when the required brine density range is 1.68–1.80 g/cm³ and zinc-containing products are not permitted.
