Hectorite-High-Temperature Flow Modifier
Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-146 Manufacturer PN: CHM-FLM-HEC
• Resistant to saturated salt and calcium contamination; temperature resistance up to 300°C; possesses excellent colloidal properties, rheological properties, and thixotropy.
Serves as a rheology modifier, low shear rate thickener, and anti-settling agent in high-salinity, high-temperature water-based drilling fluid systems. Suitable for salt-bearing formations and saturated salt systems. Ideal for offshore drilling, deep wells, and geothermal wells.
This product is a high-temperature-resistant flow modifier for water-based drilling fluids, manufactured from natural sepiolite through modification. It is a pure natural, non-toxic, odorless, asbestos-free, and non-radioactive hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral. Microscopically fibrous in structure, it disperses readily in water and highly polar solvents. Its randomly dispersed fibers form a network structure, delivering excellent suspension and rheological properties. This product exhibits excellent salt resistance and high-temperature stability. Drilling fluids formulated with it do not flocculate at elevated temperatures, remain unaffected by charged ions in saline water, and demonstrate nearly identical hydration expansion in both fresh and salt water. It is a commonly used flow modifier in saltwater, seawater, and high-temperature drilling applications. Additionally, it is partially acid-soluble, making it an ideal material for formulating completion and workover fluids.
