Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-135 Manufacturer PN: CHM-ALC-HIT

Key Features

Compatible with most water-based drilling fluid systems; strong anti-pollution ability; low toxicity.

Applications

Enhance wellbore stability, suppress shale hydration swelling, improve system lubricity, reduce mud-out risk.

This shale inhibitor is a high-cloud-point, water-soluble glycol ether product designed for high-salinity water-based drilling fluids. Its functions include: enhancing wellbore stability, lubrication, reducing high-temperature fluid loss, and minimizing drill bit mud packing. The “cloud point” refers to the critical temperature at which polymeric alcohol products transition from soluble (low temperature) to insoluble (high temperature). This cloud point decreases with increasing salinity or higher dosage of the polymeric alcohol product. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting clay hydration and swelling below the cloud point, while reducing filtrate intrusion into clay layers above the cloud point. This product exhibits a relatively high turbidity point, making it suitable for high-salinity drilling fluid systems with salt tolerance up to 150,000 ppm.
