High-Temperature Starch
Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-050 Manufacturer PN: CHM-STH-HT
• Temperature resistance up to 140°C, generally used only when the bottom hole temperature exceeds 120°C; especially suitable for non-dispersed systems under high mechanical drilling speed conditions; suitable for high-density brine systems, including CaCl2 and CaBr2. Acid-soluble product with ZnBr2.
Effectively controls fluid loss in muds with minimal viscosity increase. Forms a thin, tough mud cake to reduce formation damage and facilitate mud cake removal during completion operations. Flocculates cuttings and solids during water-flush drilling.
The high-temperature loss control agent is a specialized modified starch derivative suitable for most water-based drilling fluids, including freshwater, seawater, and saturated brine systems. It exhibits thermal stability up to 140°C and extends to 165°C in potassium formate systems, whereas conventional starch begins pyrolysis at 120°C. This product also coats drill cuttings and inhibits the dispersion and expansion of active shales. To prevent fermentation caused by bacterial degradation, it is typically used in conjunction with biocides to ensure sustained efficacy.
