This shale stabilizer is a high-molecular-weight hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) product designed to encapsulate drill cuttings, stabilize formations, and simultaneously enhance viscosity, promote flocculation, reduce drill bit mud shale, and minimize fluid loss. It rapidly adsorbs hydrophilic solids to form a protective film that provides lubrication and fluid loss reduction. This product is suitable for both soft, dispersible formations and hard, brittle formations. It can be used in freshwater, seawater, and monovalent brine systems, with an applicable pH range of 8.5–10.5.
