Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-133 Manufacturer PN: CHM-ALC-LPP

Key Features

Compatible with most water-based drilling fluid systems; strong anti-pollution ability; low toxicity.

Applications

Enhances wellbore stability, inhibits shale hydration swelling, improves system lubricity, and reduces mud-out risk.

This shale inhibitor is a low-cloud-point, water-soluble ethylene glycol ether product used in low-salinity water-based drilling fluids. Its functions include: enhancing wellbore stability, lubrication, reducing high-temperature fluid loss, and minimizing drill bit mud packing. The “cloud point” refers to the critical temperature at which polymeric alcohol products transition from soluble (low temperature) to insoluble (high temperature). This cloud point decreases with increasing salinity or higher dosage of polymeric alcohol products. The product works by inhibiting clay hydration expansion below the cloud point and reducing filtrate intrusion into clay layers above the cloud point. This product features a relatively low turbidity point, making it suitable for low-salinity drilling fluid systems with salt tolerance up to 50,000 ppm.
