This product is a high-performance weighting agent based on manganese tetroxide, suitable for enhancing density in water-based, oil-based drilling fluids, and completion fluids. Compared to barite, its distinctive properties include: a specific gravity of approximately 4.8, an average particle size of just 1 micron, near-perfect sphericity, and hardness 1.5 times that of barite. These characteristics enable drilling fluids formulated with this product to maintain relatively low rheology and lower equivalent circulating density, reducing the risk of sedimentation. This facilitates drilling in extended-reach wells or ultra-long horizontal wells, particularly in ultra-deep and high-temperature wells, while also promoting formation protection.
