Medium-Temperature Polymer Alcohol
Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-134 Manufacturer PN: CHM-ALC-MDT
• Compatible with most water-based drilling fluid systems; strong anti-pollution ability; low toxicity.
Enhances wellbore stability, inhibits shale hydration swelling, improves system lubricity, and reduces mud-out risk.
This shale inhibitor is a medium-turbidity-point, water-soluble glycol ether product designed for high-salinity water-based drilling fluids. Its functions include: enhancing wellbore stability, providing lubrication, reducing high-temperature fluid loss, and minimizing drill bit mud packing. The “cloud point” refers to the critical temperature at which polymeric alcohol products transition from soluble (low temperature) to insoluble (high temperature). This cloud point decreases with increasing salinity or higher dosage of the polymeric alcohol product. The product works by inhibiting clay hydration and swelling below the cloud point and reducing filtrate penetration into clay layers above the cloud point. With a relative cloud point of 50-70°C, this product is suitable for high-salinity drilling fluid systems, exhibiting salt tolerance up to 150,000 ppm.
