Organic Clay Suspension Agent
Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-165 Manufacturer PN: CHM-SUS-ORG
• The product has thermal stability up to 200°C; reduces oil phase separation; applicable to a wide range of temperatures and oil-water ratios, and is easily dispersed and transferred in the oil phase. Used in conjunction with conventional organophilic clay; improves the suspension capacity of the mud system without increasing viscosity.
Added prior to mud transportation or storage to prevent barite and solid particle settling. When stored long-term without agitation, this product prevents tank bottom sludge formation and oil phase separation.
This suspending agent is a pro-oil amine-modified attapulgite product primarily used to suspend solids in oil-based drilling fluid systems. Featuring a unique colloidal structure, it effectively suspends barite and other solids for extended periods without significantly increasing shear viscosity—unlike sodium or lithium montmorillonite. This maintains low-viscosity mud without settling, boosting mechanical drilling rates while ensuring excellent cuttings-carrying capacity. This suspending agent can be used alone or in combination with traditional organic clays. Its primary benefit for oil-based mud systems is significantly enhancing suspension capacity without causing noticeable viscosity increase.
