Catalog NO.: AIMRSE-CHM-ADD-122 Manufacturer PN: CHM-SOD-FMT

Key Features

Formate drilling and completion fluid systems are more environmentally friendly than chloride and bromide salts, with low toxic solid content, easy solubility in water, and strong shear thinning ability, which is conducive to rapid drilling. It can form a thin mud cake, resulting in a regular wellbore, which is beneficial for logging and improving cementing quality. The filtrate has good compatibility with formation fluids, which is conducive to the discovery and protection of oil and gas reservoirs. It has strong anti-pollution ability, stable performance, and simple maintenance. It has good inhibition and anti-collapse capabilities.

Applications

Formulated for solid-free completion fluids and workover fluids with densities up to 1.32 g/cm³, this fluid is designed for reservoir-specific drilling fluid systems and formate-based drilling and completion fluid systems. It is widely used in small-borehole drilling, horizontal wells, deviated wells, and environmentally sensitive drilling areas.

Sodium formate, with the chemical formula NaCOOH, can replace chloride brines. It is primarily used in workover and completion fluids requiring densities below 1.32 g/cm³, and can also be employed in specialized production drilling fluid systems. In numerous applications, sodium formate brines are considered more environmentally friendly than chloride or bromide brines, and they exhibit superior thermal stability. Sodium formate products are available in powder and liquid forms.
