Basic zinc carbonate serves as a conventional desulfurizer for multiple drilling fluid systems. It reacts chemically with sulfide ions or divalent sulfides to form insoluble zinc sulfide. This product exhibits a broad pH applicability range. When encountering hydrogen sulfide-bearing formations, maintaining the drilling fluid system pH above 10 is recommended. Its use enables timely removal of hydrogen sulfide, preventing safety incidents.
