Description

This is a high-performance, high-bandwidth, multi-channel transceiver integrating eight RF-sampling transmitter chains, eight RF-sampling receiver chains, and two independent RF front ends dedicated to auxiliary (feedback) paths. The high dynamic range of the transmit and receive chains enables the generation and reception of 3G, 4G, and 5G signals in wireless base stations, while its wide bandwidth capability makes it ideal for multi-band 4G and 5G infrastructure.

Each receiver chain includes a digital step attenuator (DSA) with a 31 dB range, followed by a 3 GSPS ADC (analog-to-digital converter). Every RX channel features multiple analog peak power detectors and digital peak/power detectors to support external or internal autonomous automatic gain control (AGC), along with an RF overload detector for enhanced device reliability protection. The digital downconverters (DDCs) provide up to 800 MHz of combined signal bandwidth in standard mode, and also support up to 800 MHz in 4-channel configurations—though certain operating modes can scale bandwidth further depending on channel aggregation.

In TDD mode, receiver channels can be dynamically reconfigured between traffic receivers (TDD RX) and wideband feedback receivers (TDD FB), enabling reuse of the same analog input for both functions.

Each transmitter chain incorporates a digital upconverter (DUC)—note: likely a typo in the original text referring to “digital downconverter (DUC)”—supporting up to 800 MHz of combined signal bandwidth, or up to 1200 MHz in 4-channel mode. The DUC output drives a 12 GSPS DAC (digital-to-analog converter), with a hybrid-mode output option that enhances performance in the second Nyquist zone. The DAC output includes a variable gain amplifier (TX DSA) offering 40 dB of gain range, with 1 dB analog steps and 0.125 dB digital steps.

The feedback paths share the same 3 GSPS RF-sampling ADC architecture as the main receiver chains and include either a single wideband or dual narrowband DDC configuration, supporting up to 800 MHz of combined bandwidth—or up to 1200 MHz in 4-channel mode.
