High-Power GaN HEMT for Next-Generation Wireless Infrastructure

This is a high-performance, wide-bandwidth, multi-channel transceiver integrating four RF-sampling transmitter chains, four RF-sampling receiver chains, and two RF-sampling digital auxiliary chains (feedback paths). The high dynamic range of the transmitter and receiver chains enables the device to generate and receive 3G, 4G, and 5G signals from wireless base stations, while its wide bandwidth capability is specifically designed for multi-band 4G and 5G base stations.
Each receiver chain includes a digital step attenuator (DSA) with a 25 dB range, followed by a 3 GSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Each receiver channel features an analog peak power detector and various digital power detectors to support external or internal autonomous automatic gain controllers, as well as an RF overload detector to provide device reliability protection. A single-channel or dual-channel digital downconverter (DDC) provides up to 600 MHz of combined signal bandwidth in dual-channel DDC mode, or up to 1200 MHz in single-channel DDC mode.
In TDD mode, receiver channels can be dynamically configured to switch between traffic receiver (TDD RX) and wideband feedback receiver (TDD FB), enabling reuse of the same analog input for both purposes.
Each transmitter chain includes a single-channel or dual-channel digital upconverter (DUC), supporting combined signal bandwidths of up to 2400 MHz for 2TX operation or 1200 MHz for 4TX operation. The DUC output drives a 12 GSPS DAC (digital-to-analog converter), with a hybrid-mode output option enhancing operation in the second or third Nyquist zones. The DAC output includes a variable gain amplifier (TX DSA) with a 40 dB range, 1 dB analog steps, and 0.125 dB digital steps.
The feedback paths include a 25 dB range DSA driving a 3 GSPS RF-sampling ADC, followed by a DDC with bandwidth up to 1200 MHz.
