What is the difference between IE3 and IE4 efficiency classes?
IE3 is Premium Efficiency, while IE4 is Super Premium Efficiency. IE4 motors have 10–15% lower losses than IE3, resulting in additional energy savings and lower operating costs, especially in continuous duty applications. The payback period for IE4 over IE3 is typically 1–3 years.
Are your motors suitable for use with variable frequency drives (VFD)?
Yes. Our inverter-duty motors feature reinforced turn insulation and are rated for operation with VFDs up to 10:1 constant torque and 20:1 variable torque speed ranges. For long cable runs or high carrier frequencies, we recommend shaft grounding brushes or insulated bearings.
