Overview

The Critical Link Between Instrument and Probe: The quality of your cabling directly impacts measurement accuracy, noise floor, and calibration stability. At AIMRSE, we supply Cables & Connectors engineered specifically for semiconductor probing applications. Our portfolio includes low‑leakage triaxial cables for sub‑picoampere I‑V measurements, phase‑stable RF cables for accurate S‑parameters up to 110 GHz, and ruggedized cable assemblies for high‑power device testing. Every cable is assembled with precision connectors and tested for electrical performance before shipment, ensuring your measurement path is as clean as your probe station.

Cable Construction & Signal Integrity

Triaxial, RF, and high-power cables with precision connectors Fig 1: AIMRSE cable and connector portfolio for DC, RF, and high‑power probing applications.

AIMRSE cables are constructed with high‑quality dielectrics, precision shielding, and rugged jacketing to maintain signal integrity in demanding laboratory environments. Triaxial cables feature a driven guard shield that eliminates leakage currents below 1 fA, essential for high‑impedance device characterization. RF cables utilize low‑loss PTFE dielectrics and phase‑stable construction to maintain calibration accuracy across temperature and flexure. High‑power cables incorporate heavy‑gauge conductors and high‑voltage insulation for safe operation to 10 kV and 500 A. All assemblies are terminated with name‑brand precision connectors (Trompeter, Amphenol, Radiall) and tested for continuity, insulation resistance, and VSWR (RF). Our cables are trusted for low‑leakage I‑V and C‑V measurements, on‑wafer RF calibration and testing, high‑power semiconductor characterization, and cryogenic and vacuum feedthrough integration.

Core Engineering Advantages

Factory‑Tested Performance

Every cable assembly is tested for continuity, insulation resistance, and RF VSWR before shipment. Test data is available upon request for critical applications.

Phase‑Stable RF Performance

Our RF cables maintain phase stability within ±2° under flexure, ensuring that your VNA calibration remains valid throughout the measurement session.

Custom Lengths & Connectors

Standard lengths are available from stock; custom lengths and connector configurations can be built to order with short lead times to fit your specific setup.

Cables & Connectors FAQ

What is the difference between triaxial and coaxial cables?
Coaxial cables have a single shield for general‑purpose measurements. Triaxial cables add a second, driven guard shield that eliminates leakage currents, essential for sub‑picoampere and high‑impedance measurements.
How long can my RF cables be before calibration suffers?
Cable length adds insertion loss and phase delay. For frequencies above 20 GHz, we recommend keeping cable lengths under 1 m. Longer cables can be used if calibration is performed at the probe tip plane.
Do you offer cryogenic‑rated cable assemblies?
Yes. We supply stainless‑steel jacketed semi‑rigid coax and low‑outgassing triaxial cables specifically designed for vacuum and cryogenic use down to 4 K. Thermal anchoring kits are available.
What connectors are compatible with my instruments?
We offer cables terminated with industry‑standard connectors including BNC, SMA, 2.92 mm (K), 1.85 mm (V), 1.0 mm, and Triax (2‑lug/3‑lug). Custom adapters are available for non‑standard interfaces.
How do I prevent cable noise in low‑current measurements?
Use triaxial cables with driven guards, keep cable lengths as short as practical, avoid sharp bends, and secure cables to prevent microphonic noise from vibration.
